Music really difficult is that there is absolutely nobeat/rythm tracks to hook you. Nowadays, I never can listen to this more than one "song" at a time. Toughest album to get into in this space/electronic prog genre, but look at theĮxtraordinary line-up - Bauman (long time TD member) and Fricke are also on this one. Trade it of with another much easier TD album (Ricochet). Such insanities and loud rumblings, lugubre sounds, spacey whispers. Of course needless to say I was not ready for that! How can a 14 years old be ready for I knew nothing of theīand and took that one mostly out of the beauty of the asounding artwork of the sleeve. I started my discovery of TD with this album, but never do that. Posted Tuesday, Aug| Review this album | Report (Review #32430) That's probably more the reason for me to like this album. TANGERINE DREAM since the early '90s) hates this album, but that's not my problem. Seen on several TD albums, including "Atem" and the gatefold of "Zeit", and a member of Jerome Froese (Edgar Froese's son, the baby Such thing as a real tune here on "Zeit". Such a far cry from the stuff they did in the mid 1980s, it's not even funny. Ohr had the balls to put out such a record realizing it wouldn't sell. There is no doubt that this album is one long LSD trip. Middle part of PINK FLOYD's "Echoes", but it's actually nothing but wind sounds. Sounding drone with more electronic effects, while the title track basically sounds like the "Origin of Supernatural Probabilities" is mainly one long sinister. ThenĪt the end is this very trippy, PINK FLOYD like organ. Steve Schroyder makes a guest (he would later join ASH RA TEMPEL for "Seven Up"). This seems to be one ofįricke's last recording with the Moog, before he turned to religion and to the piano andĪway from the Moog. (from Florian Fricke, of POPOL VUH, who was a guest here). Eventually the cellos disappears, and a Moog kicks in Member of HOELDERLIN), which is extremely sinister sounding, helped further with strangeĮlectronic manipulation of the cellos. "Birth of Liquid Plejades" starts off with a cello quartet (I believe one of the cellists was a Spacy electronic effects that spans over two discs, each piece lasting 17-22 minutes. This was the album that premiered Peter Baumann to the fold, who would stick Giving the ratings I gave it, I'm obviously with theįormer. Genius, others call it a big piece of crap. This is truly an album that divides the listeners big time. Tangerine Dream often miss the mark when making concept albums, yet The Seven Letters From Tibet stands as their best concept album, with some incredibly emotional melodies matching the awe-inspiring themes.Įach song on Force Majeure could stand easily on its own, yet all three songs come together in unison to make what can only be considered beauty. The only other TD album from the 80s to come close to it was Canyon Dreams. Tangram marked a turning point for TD, that resulted in a hit-and-miss 80s decade. Each peace features a wide range of moods and sounds, from frantic complex patterns to peaceful arias. ![]() Stratosfear is easily the best guitar-focused Tangerine Dream album ever. Not quite as jaw-dropping as Phaedra, but has its own vivid detail that puts Stratosfear in the same class as Phaedra. The intricate detail in creating immersive musical worlds is mindblowing, making this one of the best electronic albums of all time. ![]() Quite easily the quintessential TD album, created at the peak of a unfledging bands career.
